Crazy things you can do with a semi-sphere

Went to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester as I really cant resist all those old steam engines! Wandered round the kids interactive bit (why are they aimed just at kids, I get as much out of it as they do) and came across this really rather cool display which I though might fit with Alden’s round project looking at hands. There is a concave semi-sphere made of reflective metal or plastic, when you put your hand into the space in the middle of the sphere it appears that the reflection comes out upside-down, in 3D, to touch your hand. It is a very surreal experience.

My real hand is the over exposed one.

The further you put your hand into the sphere the bigger your reflection hand becomes.
